Empowering our People
Mental health
awareness
sessions for our
People Managers
The mental health impacts of 2020/21 can't be
underestimated, as a wide range of
circumstances took their toll on our people. With
this in mind, we created mental health
awareness sessions for all our people managers
in the spring of 2021. The aims were to
normalise conversations around mental health,
equip our managers to better understand the
signs of mental health struggles, and help them
signpost people to further sources of help when
needed. As one of our managers said via the
feedback "Following the session, I personally
would consider myself confident to approach a
conversation around a colleague's mental health
and on how to offer support and more". As at
end of June 2021, 51% of our people managers
had completed the sessions; the remaining 49%
are due to participate later in 2021.
